Just when it looked like Pop had lost that winning feeling and was barrel-rolling into the danger zone of losing his overall lead, our big football picking stud went Mach-2, um 11-2, on us. On the mighty wings of this week’s “take my breath away” performance, Pop has accelerated his lead.
That said, I feel the need for heed, as we’ve got 18 weeks in this season, and Pop’s lead amounts to a mere five wins. Zane is still dangerous (with the Maverick Halloween photos somewhere in the electronic ether to prove it), Kelly McGillis lookalike KT remains within striking distance, and Chris and Clarke have shown signs of shaking their perennial supporting cast status (though choosing to rest on their laurels last week).
As for our fearless commish, alas, it’s all just crash and burn.
