Week 2 Monday Night Implications

Zane has 8. Pop has 7. Others have less. Some have much less.

So here is the scoop…

If Colts win AND combined score is 51 or more, Pop wins.

If Eagles win OR Colts win but combined score is 50 or less, Zane wins, and modesty is dealt yet another blow.

And if four teams are forced to vacate their wins this week because of TMZ documented player misconduct, than C & C, we can talk.

thx!

Week 1 results

Screen Shot 2014-09-13 at 9.35.13 PMAs no one won more than six games last week, to declare anyone a “winner” is rather generous and hence the calculated delay in reporting results. That said, Zane did eek out a win over Pop thanks to the tiebreaker. Congrats to Zane for sucking the least.

This is where I should tap into my coaching bag of motivational aids and reassure you all that you are winners in the grander game of life. Alas, tonight, the best I can summon is this:

PS, Claire, DNP does not in fact mean “damn near perfect” (regardless of how your mother may build you up), but rather,”did not play”.

Let us hope this week produces more inspiring results.

B-ball results, it’s all over now

Well, Rock was in the driver seat for like 48 hours.

With a remarkable 5 out of the final 8 (no one else had more than 3), all he needed was either Michigan or Michigan State to go farther than Wisconsin.  And with MI and MIST both favored to win and WI facing #1 Arizona, it was looking good.  But the state of Michigan did Pop wrong again. Apparently the Lions curse escaped the confines of the Motor city and took down the whole damn state.

While the Michigan state motto may be “if you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you” (or “Si Quaeris Peninsulam Amoenam Circumspice” for those who prefer their mottos in the original latin form), if you seek a pleasant Pennella, I suggest you look elsewhere than Basking Ridge.  For when the weekend dust cleared, Zane had somehow put 3 into the final 4 and locked up the whole deal.  It’s just a matter of how badly he kicks the rest of our arses now.  And no one’s is getting kicked harder than Special K who was eliminated by Friday night.

I will post the final results, but the order shall not change.  Congrats to Zane.  And we can only hope that Kris has learned from her karmic comeuppance and thus will be more bearable come football season.

Results up to final four

B-ball pool, results after round 2

Zane was eager to have the updated results published.  One can see why.

Did I mention the winner treats (the losers’ decks)?

Go Hoos!

First round results

After one round, Zane is leading the pack, while Mike is just relieved that his alma matter rallied so as to be spared the eternal infamy of being the first number one seed ever to lose to a number sixteen seed.

As it would be rude to not grant fair time to the other participants’ alma maters…

Rutgers concluded their 12 and 21 season (at least there was symmetry) by losing in their league tournament. By 61.  Ouch.

Maryland broke the .500 mark (by beating  UVa at the end of  year) but was not invited to any postseason tournament.  So rude.

Lafayette had a bummer of year (11 and 20, 0ne % point below Rutgers) but did make the tournament last year.  Muhlenberg went 16 and 10, but alas, didn’t make the division 3 tournament.

I have temporarily forgotten Clark’s alma mater.  Sorry about that.

Here are the results…

PS:  Forgive my chest thumping, UVa hasn’t been good in two decades.  I have to enjoy it a bit.
